1. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in November at the station car park entrance. These rides allegedly start at 9.00.

Monday evening rides start outside the Thorntree at 18.30. Further details of both outings from Tony Holmes on 01629 734753.

2. Thanks.

Thanks to all who helped with the running of Riber Hill Climb.

Thanks to Harry and John for their organisational support during the successful Trix session at Stancliffe.

3. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening in September from about 20.00 to 21.30.

5. AGM

The club‘s Annual General Meeting takes place on Thursday evening, 16th November starting at 20.00.

Nomination lists for club officers will be displayed in the clubroom. These lists will be removed 1 week prior to the AGM.

Motions for discussion at the AGM and any other competent business needs to be with the secretary, in writing, also 1 week prior to the AGM.


6. Press Secretary.

Ron Duggins is taking over as Press Secretary from November. He can be reached on 01629 584677 or Email using dalesecho@aol.com . He needs your news by 20.00 on the Sunday evening.

Thanks to Mark Fairman for his sterling work as Press secretary of the last few years.


7. Impruve Event

The next Impruve event is a Trix skills test session at Lea Green on Saturday, 11th November, between 10.00 and 12.00.This preceeds the Notts and Derby League Cyclo-Cross races which are also at Lea Green.

The next Impruve event after that above is the Dr Bike session at the Barn on Thursday, November 23rd. starting at 20.00.

8.Open Event.

Danny Alexander is organising a N&D cross at Lea Green for us on Saturday, 11th November.

Help always needed, especially clearing up afterwards!

11. Club Subscriptions

Club subscriptions for 2001 become due on the 1st January, 2001. They can be paid any time following the AGM in November.

Please hand or send completed enrolment forms together with payment to Tony Holmes or Harry Gould.


12.Club Dinner.

This annual event takes place on Friday evening, 19th January, 19.30 for a 20.00 start. The venue will be the Coach House at Lea. Cost about £16 per head.

13. Results of Club Events in 2000

14. BDCA.

We are promoting a hilly for the BDCA using AH/7(A/VH) on Sunday, 11th March with Lee Shunburne as event secretary. Start is 09.00 and entry fee £5.

All BDCA events in 2001 are for association members only. We appear to be members again!

15. Autumn Tour.

This is scheduled to take place on Saturday/Sunday, 18th/19th November going to Gradbach Youth Hostel. Cost is £20.

Booking will take place on 8th October. Please let me know if you intend going to Gradbach.

16. Winter Programme.

We are looking for new ideas to use on Thursday evenings at the clubroom. If you can offer to organise an evening or know of someone who would be willing to do so please let a member of the committee know.

18.Pedal Power 2000 & Pedal Power 2001.

Collect your copy from club or the whitish van.

Please let Danny have any articles, pictures, drawings, anything for the next edition of Pedal Power due out in the New Year.

19.Trophies.

Congratulations to all winners of trophies for the 1999 season. Please note that this year all trophies MUST be returned to club on or before Thursday, 30th November 2000.

Please check with Trophies 2000 to see if this lit of this year'e winners is correct.

If you think you have won a trophy during 2000 please let a committee member know before the AGM.

20. Events 2001

Second Version of next year's club events is posted at club together with courses to be used.

21.Timekeepers.

We have been struggling to run club events during the holiday season. Thanks to the volunteer time keepers who ensured that no events were cancelled. If anyone would like to become an official RTTC time keeper please let me know.We are having a training session on Thursday, 2nd November at club.

22.Circuit Training.

Circuit training sessions continue each Tuesday evening at 19.30 using the gym at the Starkholmes Annex of Highfields School. These sessions last 1 hour and cost £2 with £1 for those in full time education.

23. Club Charity 2000

Every year the club club decides to support a different charity and any fund s raised from a variety of events will be donated the charity chosen for the particular year.

In 2000 the charity is Crossroads.

Crossroads is a registered charity that supports people who care for a physically or mentally disabled person of any age.

Its main objectives are:-

1) To recruit and provide Care Attendants: to relieve stress in the family or or carer of the disabled person.
To avoid admission to hospital or residential care of the disabled person shoul a breakdown or other failure occur in the household.

2) To supplement and complement, no replace, existing statutory services = and to work closely with them.

3) To strive to maintain a high and professional standard of care.

The local scheme, which the club is supporting, started in 1987 in the Northern Dales, expanding South in 1995. It now covers from Edale and the Hope Valley in the North down to Sudbury and Doveridge. The service is open to carers of people of any age or disability, mental or physical. There is normally no charge made for the service, although if the need exceeds the available funding a waiting list can operate.

27. Volunteers.

We intend to run introductory mtb rides on Sunday mornings, starting in Autumn, and would like to set up a rota of riders prepared to help. Please let Harry or Ron know if you are able to help.

26.BSCA, East Midland Area Championships 2001?

27.Trix Awards.

The next Trix Award session will be on Saturday, 11th November using Lea Green Sports Centre. Times will be 10.00 to 12.00. Cost will be £1.

27.Cyclocross.

There are suitable off road competitions for age groups Under 12, Under 14 & under 16 yrs practically every Saturday throughout the winter, the times are always 12-30 for Under 14's & 16's and 1-30 for under 12's.
