1. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in October, at 9.00 starting from the station car park entrance. Monday evening rides start outside the Thorntree at 18.30. Further details of both outings from Tony Holmes on 01629 734753.


2. Thanks.

Thanks to all who helped with Danny‘s races at Darley Moor on the 18th.

Also thanks to those who marshalled the Barnardo‘s sponsored ride.

Thanks to John for his support of the TRIX event at Stancliffe on the 2nd October.

3. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening in October from about 20.00 to 21.30.

5. Winter is Upon Us.

The cross season has started if you hadn't noticed and you will need a BCCA card/licence for the 1999/00 season. Harry has the forms..


6. Press Secretary.

Mark Fairman needs informing of all of our exploits. Please call him on 01629 583564 with all your results as soon as possible after the event.


7. Impruve Event

The next Impruve training event is on Saturday 2nd October at Stancliffe Hall School, starting at 14.30. It will take the form of a Trix training session. Help urgently required.



8.Brittany 2000.

Next year‘s Summer tour is to Brittany. Cost around £430. Dates: Tuesday 18th July to Wednesday 26th July 2000. Details available. Places limited. Deposits by October 4th please.


Riber 1999

This year marks the 20th anniversary of George‘s death. The memorial hillclimb takes place on Sunday, 24th October with the first man off at 10.31. Entry fee:£4. Please either ride (its a fairly easy hill) or come along and marshal thus ensuring a successful event. Entries close on Tuesday, 12 October or give me a ring.

10. AGM.

This years AGM takes place on 18th November. Notification of any motions to be put before the AGM need to be with the secretary, in writing, by the 4th November.

11. Club Subscriptions

Club subscriptions for 1999 became due on the 1st January. Please hand or send completed enrolment forms together with payment to Tony Holmes or Harry Gould.


12. Autumn Tour.

Weekend of November 20th/21st using Edale Hostel. Cost £20/£22 depending on age. Booking early October. Please phone if you are interested..

13. Results of Club Events

14. King Cycle Tests.

Martin Eadon, BCF/BCCA National Team Manager will explain all on Wednesday, 27th October and then he will do the actual tests on two Saturday to be agreed by you. Harry has details.

15. Circuit Training.

Circuit training takes place on Tuesday evenings at 19.30 to 20.30. Cost £2 at work, £1 rest. New sufferers always welcome!

16. Notts and Derby League Cross Events.
