4. Cyclo-Cross
This months Notts & Derby cyclo-cross events are :
Date : 05/02/05 at Sherwood Pines
Youth ( 12-16) races start at 12.30 and cost £4 Under-12 races start at 13.30 and are free Juniors/seniors/vets etc at start at 14.15 and cost £8 Please aim to arrive about 30 minutes before the start of your event for signing-on etc. Harry Gould (01629 822259) will be pleased to provide further details. Cyclo-cross is an ideal way to start racing in a safe off-road environment.5. Open Events in March.
The club promotes two open events in March - the Open Hilly 25 on Saturday, 5th March and for the BDCA, the Open Hilly using the Holloway, Crich, Lea triangle, on Sunday, 13th March.
I need your entry for the Hilly 25 by Tuesday, 22nd February and Lee needs your entry for the BDCA event by Tuesday, 1st March.
If you are not going to rides these events both organisers would greatly appreciated your help on the day.
6. Coaching.
The first coaching session of 2005 will take place on Saturday 19th February, in the morning, from 9.30 to 10.30 using Whitworth Park. It will concentrate on basic riding technique using games and some racing. Cost : £1 - free to club members. You need a completed parental consent form, a helmet and a bike to take part. 7. Club Auction
The 2005 club auction takes place on 10th February, with a prompt 8pm start. If you have anything that you want to go into the auction please tell Harry either by phone (01629822259) or Email (Harry@kavanhouse.freeserve.co.uk) or at a club night so that a list of lots can be prepared. Items should be delivered to Harry either in Wirksworth or at the club room before the day or by 7pm on the night of the auction. 10% of the selling price goes to the club‘s young riders fund. Late items not on the official list will be accepted but will have 15% deducted from the selling price. Viewing is from 7.30 pm on the night.
Items are coming in well. There is a list of such items submitted on the club web site.
8. Sunday Morning Rides
Sunday, 6th February. Pace slow 10-12 mph. Leave Crown Square 9am back by 1pm. Cafe stop on route. Contact Richard Thoday (01629582300) for more details.
9. Mountain Bike Section.
Meets each Saturday morning in February, at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30.
Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30. Further details of both outings from Tony Holmes.

14. Monday Morning Rides.
These rides take place on every Monday in February leaving Cromford market place at 9.30 and returning at about 12.30. The pace is slow and everyone is welcome. We aim to stop at a cafe around 11 am and then make our way back, perhaps by another route.

16. Go-Ride Venue Code.
The club‘s venue code is 1002 and should be used whenever you access the Go-Ride web site to enter your skill, sprint or endurance times.
17. Tuesday Evening Road Rides.
