Club Kit.New club kit is available. Ordering will be on-line at Impsport‘s website or by phone using a club-specific password to get your discount. This password will be sent out with this newsletter.

National Hill Climb Championships 2008 This event, promoted by Matlock CC, takes place between 12.00 and 14.30 on Sunday, 26th October 2008. We need your support especially with marshalling the hill on the day when we need around 50+ marshals. Please let Dawn Watson know if you can help. So far we have had less than 40 offers of help. We are also collecting traffic cones of any size to provide the road closure. If you have any that we can borrow or see any discarded ones inform us.

If you intend to enter the closing date is Tuesday, 7th October. Late entries/telephone calls are not accepted.

Notts & Derby Cyclo-Cross League Events These events follow a similar pattern, just the venue changes. The under-10 race is at 12 noon ; the under-12 race is at12.30 ; the youth race (under-16) is at 13.00 and the rest - seniors, veterans, juniors starts at 14.15. Ages are as 1st January 2009. Cost : Under-10 and under-12, free ; youth, £4 ; junior (under-18), £5 ; Vets and seniors, £10. More information can be had from Harry and Lee or by looking at : http://www.ndcxl.org

AGMThe club‘s AGM takes place on Thursday, 20th November at 20.00 in the Barn club room, Church Street, Matlock. Nomination forms are available in the club room and a list of club positions available on the club‘s website. Nominations close 14 day before the AGM. Any motion to be put before the AGM needs to be in writing and sent to the secretary 14 days before the AGM.

BDCA Prize Presentation This takes place at Ticknall Village Hall on Sunday, 30th November. Tickets cost £9 which includes food. Sue Bowler has the tickets

Junior Newsletter

October 2008

Coaching sessions Coaching sessions. Octobers‘s coaching sessions take place on Saturdays 11th and 18th October at 9.30 using Whitworth Park. We will be using Go-ride exercises as usual with some racing. As tried last time if there are sufficient numbers the group will be split into two : experienced/older riders ; younger or new riders. The sessions will end with a race around one of John‘s cyclo-cross courses,

Notts & Derby Cyclo-cross League These events take place each Saturday during September, stating at 12.00 with the under-12 race followed by the under-12 race at 12.30. Both are free. Venue details are given in the main Newsletter and on the website. The nearest race to Matlock takes place on Saturday, 18th October at Alfreton Park. See http://www.ndcxl.org for directions.

Darley Dale Activity Week Darley Dale Town Council is organising an activity week for Darley Dale residents during the October half term at the Whitworth Centre. Our slot is from 2pm to 4pm on Tuesday, 28th Ocotber. Your school should have details soon. The cost is £3. It works on a first come basis up to 30 children.

Junior Clubnight Junior clubnight takes place at the Barn on Thursday, 2nd October starting at 19.00. This is the club‘s conker championships. Either bring your own conkers or ”borrow• one of those provided. This championship tends to be a closely fought contest. Can you beat the Chairman? Children of any age - ? to 100 - are welcome as long as they can hold the string. Crash helmets, gloves and eye protection are optional!

Junior Dr Bike This session takes place on Thursday, 16th October from 19.00. If you have problems with your bike you can get them fixed at this session. If you would like to know how to maintain your bike, or to check for faults, this could be the session for you. If you would like one or both of your parents to know how to maintain your bike, bring them along. However you must let Rob know that you intend to come to the session by ringing 01629 822259.
