Matlock Cycling Club's Home Page.

1. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening, after the hilly time trial, from about 19.30 to 20.30. Dr Bike sessions are open to all members of the community. This months session takes place on Thursday, 12th June. These sessions are by appointment only. Please ring Rob to book an appointment.

2. Trix.

We are visiting St Elphins again on Saturday morning, June 7th starting at 9.30. This session will start with Trix testing before the break and finish with a selection of team games/races etc. Please come along and help and join in the fun.

3. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in June at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30. Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30. Further details of both outings from Tony Holmes.

4. Thanks.

Thanks to Darrell, Richard, Harry, Geoff, Hazel and Peter for their help with the Open 10 mile time trial. Thanks to Rob for his help with the BSCA Area Hard Track Championships at Nottingham.

8. 2003 Road Race Championships.

This years Senior Road Race Championship takes place at Darley Moor on Sunday, 13th July. Entries with appropriate entry fee to Richard Clark or entry on the line.

9. Timekeepers.

Timekeepers are always needed. Have you ever thought about becoming a timekeeper? Instruction given. Contact Chris or harry.

10. Club Clothing

Steve Ward writes, The items currently on order are due any time now !!.

11. BSCA East Midland Area Grass Track.

This event takes place at Lady Manners School on Saturday, 28th June with a 14.00 start. It is open to all school age riders who have a bike - a come and try it event. Entry costs 5 and have to be with me by Tuesday, 17th June. I have the entry forms. Ring 01629 734996 for more details.

12. Summer Cross.

Wednesday evening cross takes place at Riddings Park on June 11th. 2003. Under 12s at 7.00pm and others at 7.30pm. You dont need to enter, just turn up and support them. More details from 01773 570539.

13. Summer Tour 2004.

We intend to go to France in July 2004 and see part of a stage of the Tour de France. Details later!

14. Darley Moor.

The second Darley Moor crit takes place on Sunday, 22nd June starting at 11.00. Richard Clark has more details.

16. Open Events.

The Grouse 10 takes place on Tuesday evening, 3rd June. There is no club event on that evening. Please come along and help if you forgot to enter. The Tarmac 25 takes place on Sunday, 6th July. Entries, 5, close on Tuesday, 24th June. Entries to Rob please.

17. Touring Trophy.

This evening entertainment will take place on Wednesday, 23rd July starting from the club room from 18.30. All you need is a bike an OS map [preferably of this area], a pencil and a sense of humour.

18. Eubonne Cyclists.

A group of around 8 cyclists from Matlocks twin town of Eubonne are visiting the area between Thursday, 29th May and Sunday, 1st June. They are staying in Matlock Bath. We are hoping to guide them around the delights of Derbyshire. The possible timetable is:- Thursday, meet them at East Midland Airport, transport them to Matlock Bath to meet their bikes. Ride to Crich in the afternoon. Friday, ride to Castleton missing out the A6 as far as possible. Starting at around 9.30 from Matlock Bath. Saturday, ride to Manifold Valley area/ Mermaid etc.Starting at around 9.30 from Matlock Bath. Sunday, return them to East Midland Airport. Please book the dates as all are welcome on the rides. We are looking for help for the journey back to the airport. Contacts
