Evening club events start this month

Matlock Cycling Club's Home Page.

1. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening from about 19.15 after the hilly event..

2. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in April at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30.

Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30.

3. Thanks.

5. Club Subscriptions.

2004 club subs remain the same as 2003 which is up to 17, £1; 18-23, £5; over 24, £10; family. £15. Harry will gladly receive your money.

6. Press Secretary.

7. Sunday Morning Club Runs.

These leave Crown Square at 09.00 am. First ride 18th April. Contact Paul Rogers for more details on 01629 580446.

8.Saab Solomon 24 hr Criterium .

Phil Topliss is putting a team of 4 in for this years Saab Solomon 24hr race on 26/27th June. If you are reasonably fit and fancy a bit of a challenge it might be for you. For more details contact Phil Topliss ASAP on 07766 013 153 or phil.topliss@bespak.co.uk

9. Timekeepers.

Ever thought of being a timekeeper? The club needs timekeepers for club events and for open events. Training provided. Please let me know if you could help.

10. Results of Time Trials 2003.

The results of the club‘s time trials can be found on the website. Comments on the mistakes welcomed and sought.

13. Monday Morning Rides.

These start from Cromford Market Place at 9.30 and return around 12.30(?) About 14 members havebeen on these rides visiting local cafes at such places as Ashbourne, Hartington, Duffield, Rowsley, Derby and Darley Dale.. Ring 01629 734996 for more details.

No ride on the 5th April.

14.Open 10 .

The closing date for the Open 10mile Time Trial is Tuesday, April 20th. Entry fee is £5.50 and the event takes place on Sunday, 2nd May.

15.Coaching Group.

17.New Club Strip

The next order goes in late March/early April for a May delivery. Pick up a letter and order form from club.

18.Summer Cross.

First event is on Wednesday, 28th April at Riddings Park with a 19.00 start for the U-12s

19. BSCA East Mids Time Trial Championships/BSCA National Time Trial Championships..

Take place at Darley Moor on Saturday 29th May at 14.00. Entries (£6.50) on a BSCA entry form close on 8th May. Ring 01629 734996 for more information.

20.Club Sponsorship.

The club name for entry forms will be :- Matlock Cycling Club/Wards Shoe Shops/Impsport/Farmers of Matlock for Subaru.

25. Club Charity 2004

Every year the club club decides to support a different charity and any funds raised from a variety of events will be donated to the charity chosen for that particular year.

In 2004 the charity is for Motor Neurone Disease

31.Pedal Power.

John White, Pedal Power Editor, aims to publish the 2004 edition of Pedal Power towards the end of April ( this year!). If you have anything that could be of interest please let the editor know. It would be helpful if the material could be in text ie by Email (johnwhitecycling at hotmail.com) or on a floppy.

32.Video Library.

Lee Shunburne has agreed to co-ordinate the establishment of a club video/DVD library. If you have any cycling material on video or DVD that you would lend out or allow to be copied please let him know. A list of available material will appear in Pedal Power.

33.Caption Competition.
