2. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in February at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30.

Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30.

8. Tuesday Evening Rides.

9. Timekeepers.

Ever thought of being a timekeeper? The club needs timekeepers for club events and for open events. Training provided. Please let me know if you could help.

10. Results of Time Trials 2003.

13. Monday Morning Rides.

These start from Cromford Market Place at 9.30 and return around 12.30(?) Currently around four members are to be found on these rides visiting local cafes at such places as Ashbourne, Hartington, Derby and Darley dale.. Ring 01629 734996 for more details.

14. Hard Easter Tour.

8-day Easter Cycle Tour into deepest darkest Wales. Classic Welsh route incorporating three optional circular day rides. 3-10 April 2004

4th April Wilderhope - Rhayader B&B (63miles)

5th April Rhayader - Rhayader B&B (85miles optional circular day routes)

6th April Rhayadar - Dolgellau (Self Catering) (45miles)

7th April Dolgellau - Dolgellau (Self Catering) (80miles optional circular day routes)

8th April Dolgellau - Llangollen YHA (75miles)

9th April Llangollen - Llangollen YHA (45miles optional circular day routes)

10th April Llangollen - Matlock (95miles)

Approximate cost £125 (includes all accommodation, breakfasts and some evening meals). No YHA membership required. Contact Daniel Alexander .

15.Auction.

This year‘s auction takes place on 12th starting at 7.30 pm. Sale items to be notified to Harry as soon as possible These items can be delivered to Harry, if members want to, before the auction so that the items can be labelled. Latest submission of items is about 6.30 on the night of the Auction at the clubroom.

17.CTT Handbooks

Tony is about to sen d in an order for these time trial handbooks. Money (£5.50) with order please.

18.Winter Cross.

Race times:

12-15 years starts at 12.30 and lasts about 20minutes.

Under - 12 years starts at 13.30 and lasts 10 minutes.

Over - 15 years starts at 14.15 and lasts 50 minutes.

The under - 12 race is free. Any bike is suitable. You need to be at the venue about 30 minutes before the race start to sign on, get your number and look at the course.This event provides the last opportunity to look at or experience cyclo-cross locally this season. Sansom Wood is near Ravenshead. More details from Harry.

All age groups gain points in each race to produce a final Notts and Derby League table. It is quite possible that Matlock CC will win the team classification in the Elite and Under-12 categories.

19.Trophies.

Trophies may be collected at the auction, otherwise from Parkside during February.

20.Club Sponsorship.

From January 2004 the club will have three sponsors. Wards Shoe Shops, Impsport and Farmers of Matlock. The club name for entry forms will be :- Matlock Cycling Club/Wards Shoe Shops/Impsport/Farmers of Matlock for Subaru.

21.New Club Strip.

We have arranged for a publicity photograph to launch the new club kit and new sponsorship on Saturday, 7th February at 13.00 in Hall Leys Park adjacent to Crown Square. Please come in/with your new kit and if possible a bike.

Danny will answer all your questions about this event.

There will be a chance to road test the kit after the photos with a gentle two hour ride ending up at Caudwell‘s Mill for tea and cakes.

22.Track Taster Session.

The club has arranged a two hour taster session at the Manchester Velodrome on Saturday, 15th May, from 2 to 4 pm. Cost is; adult £21, under-18 £5 both + £6.90 cycle hire. This cost includes transport from Matlock. Group limited to 15 places. A £5 (under-18 £1) deposit secures a place. Ring 01629 734996 if you are interested.

23.Welfare.

If you know of any club member who would appreciate a get well card or a congratulations card or a commiserations card please let Phil Smith have the details.

24. Classic Climbs.

Following Paul Rogers talk at club in October, we are considering originating a Peak District/Derbyshire Classic Climbs brevet. Which climbs do you consider worthy of being included? Please get a Classic Climbs voting form from Harry and return it to any committee member.Lists by the first week in February please. Voting Update

25. Club Charity 2003

Every year the club club decides to support a different charity and any funds raised from a variety of events will be donated to the charity chosen for that particular year.

In 2004 the charity is for Motor Neurone Disease

31.Pedal Power.

We aim to publish the 2004 edition of Pedal Power towards the end of April ( this year!). If you have anything that could be of interest please let the editors know - how you felt when you won your first race, your favourite ride, your new bike or the dream machine, a drawing/cartoon, memories, etc. It would be helpful if the material could be in text ie by Email (cj@argonet.co.uk) or on a floppy.

32.Video Library.

Lee Shunburne has agreed to co-ordinate the establishment of a club video/DVD library. If you have any cycling material on video or DVD that you would lend out or allow to be copied please let him know. A list of available material will appear in Pedal Power.

33.Caption Competition.

35.Open Events.

The closing date for the Open Hilly 25 is Tuesday,23th February and for the BDCA Hilly is Tuesday, 2nd March. Entry for both events on new CTT entry forms please - available at club.

36.Congratulations

To Tom Last for achieving a Bronze medal in the Youth national championships to add to his National Trophy title.

Similarly to Annie Last. She was the Champion Under 14 years girl Nationally and besides which she was 3rd overall and gained a bronze medal in the Girls Under 16.

37. Notts & Derby Cyclo Cross League Prize Presentation

The N&DCXL Prize Presentation, Raffle, Disco and Buffet is on Friday March 5th at the "Heanor Miners Welfare" at Heanor. Starting at 7-30pm it costs only £8 for adults and £4 for children. The Presentation is early so that the children are not out too late.

Attendance by ticket only and Harry has the tickets to sell.
