1. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in September at 9.00 starting from the station car park entrance. Monday evening rides start outside the Thorntree at 18.30. Further details of both outings from Tony Holmes on 01629 734753.


2. Thanks.

Thanks to all who helped with with Riks races at Darley Moor at the beginning of the month.

3. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening in August from about 20.00 to 21.30.

Thursday, 16th: How to Cyclo - Cross video on the club‘s new video machine.
Thursday, 23rd: Unveiling og the Campag tool set.

4. Newsletter.

5. Winter is Upon Us.

The cross season starts soon (next week probably) and you will need a BCCA card/licence for the 1999/00 season. Harry has the forms..


6. Press Secretary.

Mark Fairman needs informing of all of our exploits. Please call him on 01629 583564 with all your results as soon as possible after the event.


7. Impruve Event

The next Impruve training event hopefully on Saturday 8th October at Stancliffe Hall School. It will take the form of a Trix training session.



8.Barnardos Sponsored ride.

This annual event takes place on Sunday, 12th September. We marshal Yougreave and Over Haddon. Volunteers please. It is over by mid-day.


9.Club Clothing.

Steve Ward is collecting orders for club clothing. Forms available from him or at club.Hurry the closing date has gone.

10. Club Events.

Saturday, 4th September: Sheldon circuit, 14.00 start from Shutts Lane, Bakewell.
Saturday, 4th September: Freewheel contest at Sheldon village. Follows the above event.
Saturday, 11th September: Hill climb. Lea. 14.00 start. Signing on at the picnic site. Could incorporate the area BSCA championships.
Under-18 riders must have completed and returned a RTTC parental consent form, before they can start club events.

11. Club Subscriptions

Club subscriptions for 1999 became due on the 1st January. Please hand or send completed enrolment forms together with payment to Tony Holmes or Harry Gould.


12. Autumn Tour.

Weekend of November 20th/21st using Edale Hostel. Cost £20/£22 depending on age. Names by 19th September please.

13. Results of Club Events

14. King Cycle Tests.

Introductory meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, 2nd September at 20.00, using the club room. The first session will be on the following Saturday, 4th September. Harry has more details.

15. Circuit Training.

It is hoped to arrange circuit training sessions on Tuesday evenings at 19.30. Venue has yet to be decided. Cost will be about £1.20 at work or £1 otherwise. Watch this space for more details.
