1. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening after the hilly time trial from about 19.15 to 20.30.

Dr Bike sessions are by appointment only but are open to everyone, not just club members. Please ring Rob and he will arrange to bring the tool kit down to club on a Thursday evening./p

2. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in August at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30.

Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30.

6. Press Secretary.

7. Newsletters.

Mark has volunteered to produce an Email version of the newsletter. If you would prefer to receive this version rather than the printed version please Email him (see above for the address)./p

8.National 24 Hour Championships 2002.

Richard Thoday came 13th in this championship at his first attampt (at any open event over 25 miles!) with a distance of about 422 miles. Congratulations to Richard for this excellent effort.

9. Autumn Tour 2002.

This annual event will probably take place on the weekend of 9th/10th or 23rd/24th November 2002. We hope to stay at Hartington Youth Hostel. Cost will be under-18, £20, over-18, £25. More details next month or ring 01629 734996.

10. Time Trials 2002.

The final of the club‘s time trials can be found in the clubroom and on the website. Comments on the mistakes welcomed and sought.

14. BSCA East Midland Hard Track Championships.

These championships have beem rearranged totake place at Harvey Haddon Stadium, Nottingham on Friday evening, 13th September starting at 19.00. Entry fee is £1.50. Ring 01629 734996 if you need details. There is a possibility of hiring a bike - if they haven‘t been stolen again.

17.Cyclo Cross

Next month Cyclo Cross starts in earnest and it is a good way to get started in healthy anf fun off road racing for every age group.

Harry has the details and next month the Newsletter will show where and when the local events are.

18.East Midland BSCA Grass Track Championships. .

This event has been rearranged to take place at Yarborough Circuit, Lincoln for the evening of Tuesday, 10th September with a 19.00 start. Further details from John Cotton (01522 540006) Entry to the BSCA event is £1.50 and is open to any rider of school age in the club or who attends LMS or St Elphins. Any bike can be used.

19. Club Charity 2002

Every year the club club decides to support a different charity and any funds raised from a variety of events will be donated to the charity chosen for that particular year.

In 2002 the charity is the Derbyshire Air Ambulance.

Activities for all ages but especially those under 16.

23.Buxton Inter-Club Races

Congratulations to all those who ensured that we retained the inter-club trophy. We won by 74 points to their 36 points./p

23.Ashbourne Cup.

This takes place on Sunday, 18th August using Darley Moor and starting at 12.00. This is currently the only road race promoted by the club so please support this event by either riding or helping with the organisation of the event. Richard Ckark is the organiser.

24.5th/6th October 2002

Please book these dates. The club is involved with the organisation of two cyclo-cross events at Lea Green over this weekend.

Saturday, 5th October sees the Notts & Derbys League event while Sunday, 6th October, using the same course, we are helping to promote an International cyclo-cross.

We need all the help that we can get on both days. Please contact Harry if you are able to help on both or either day.
