Come to Buxton on Thursday, 4th July and help Matlock retain the inter-club trophy.

1. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening after the hilly time trial,except the 4th July, from about 19.15 to 20.00..

Dr Bike sessions are by appointment only but are open to everyone, not just club members. Please ring Rob and he will arrange to bring the tool kit down to club on a Thursday evening./p

2. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in July at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30.

Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30.

2. Thanks.

6. Press Secretary.

7. Newsletters.

Mark has volunteered to produce an Email version of the newsletter. If you would prefer to receive this version rather than the printed version please Email him (see above for the address)./p

8.Club Subscriptions, 2002.

They remain unchanged from 2001, Seniors: £10, Under-23: £5, Under-18: £1, Family: £15. All under -18 members are required to be members of either the BCF or the CTC. Subscriptions to Tony Holmes please.

9. Clubroom in July

The clubroom is open each Thursday in July, except for July 4th when we and you should be at Buxton after the finish of the short hilly event,-about 19.45 except for the last Thursday when it will be about 19.15.

10. Time Trials 2002.

The final of the club‘s time trials can be found in the clubroom and on the website. Comments on the mistakes welcomed and sought.

12. Open Events

The Tarmac 25 takes place on Sunday, July 6th. Please book the date. Help with marshalling the event would be appreciated as would cakes for sale in the event HQ. Rob is the event secretary.

14. BSCA East Midland Hard Track Championships.

These championships take place at Harvey Haddon Stadium, Nottingham on Friday evening, 5th July, starting at 19.00. Entry fee is £1.50. Ring 01629 734996 if you need details. There is a possibility of hiring a bike - if they haven‘t been stolen again.

17.Darley Moor Crits

The fourth Darley Moor Crit promoted by Richard Clark takes place on Sunday 28th July with a 12.00 start. The race is for 2/ 3/4/V. Help with judging especially appreciated as this event coincides with the 24 hour championships. A Peter Fryer vets event follows this event.

18.East Midland BSCA Grass Track Championships. .

This event, that was to include the club championship, has been CANCELLED due to doubts about the venue.

19. Club Charity 2002

Every year the club club decides to support a different charity and any funds raised from a variety of events will be donated to the charity chosen for that particular year.

In 2002 the charity is the Derbyshire Air Ambulance.

Activities for all ages but especially those under 16.

23.Buxton Inter-Club Races

Dates are confirmed as Tuesday, 2nd July at Matlock and Thursday, 4th May at Buxton.

We managed to just hold on to the trophy last year by 2 points. Please book the dates and support your club.

We need this support especially at Buxton - an extra 25 points if you ride there!

23.Ashbourne Cup.

This takes place on Sunday, 18th August using Darley Moor and starting at 12.00. This is currently the only road race promoted by the club so please support this event by either riding or helping with the organisation of the event. Richard Ckark is the organiser.

24.24 Hour National Championships.

Richard Thoday is riding this championship, which takes place on the weekend of 27th/28th July. If you are able to offer support in any way please let him or Tony Holmes know.
