1. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening after the hilly time trial - from about 19.15 to 20.00..

Dr Bike sessions are by appointment only but are open to everyone, not just club members. Please ring Rob and he will arrange to bring the tool kit down to club on a Thursday evening./p

2. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in May at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30.

Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30.

5. RTTC Handbooks.

Orders with cash (£4.50) to Tony as soon as possible please.

6. Press Secretary.

Ron Duggins is our Press Secretary. He can be reached on 01629 584677 or Email using dalesecho@aol.com . He needs your news by 20.00 on the Sunday evening.

7. Touring Trophy.

This year‘s event takes place on Wednesday, 29th May, starting from Parkside from 19.00.

It consists of a treasure hunt with grid references and covers around 10 miles with one clue per mile. All you need is an ordnance survey map of the area, a pencil and typical touring kit.

If your map reading is fairly accurate, lights should not be needed.

8.Club Subscriptions, 2002.

They remain unchanged from 2001, Seniors: £10, Under-23: £5, Under-18: £1, Family: £15. All under -18 members are required to be members of either the BCF or the CTC. Subscriptions to Tony Holmes please.

9. Clubroom in April

The clubroom is open each Thursday in April after the finish of the short hilly event - about 19.15.

10. Time Trials 2002.

The final of the club‘s time trials can be found in the clubroom and on the website. Comments on the mistakes welcomed and sought.

11. Pedal Power 2002.

There is still time to send your articles for the 2002 edition of Pedal Power to Danny. Publication is imminent.

If you have broken any club records last year please let Danny know so that these can be included in PP.

12. Open Events

The Open 10 takes place on Sunday, 5th May using the A10/16 with an 08.00 start. Entries, £5, close on Tuesday, 23rd April.

Help appreciated with marshalling this event.

Would anyone like to help serve cups of tea after this Open event in the event HQ,Rowsley Village Hall?

Cakes also appreciated.

pEntries(£5) for the Grouse 10 time trial on Tuesday, 4th June (08.00 start) close on Saturday, 26th May.

14. BSCA AGM.

This takes place on Saturday, 11th May at Leicester(in a pub!). The club is allowed one delegate. Exciting transport is available and apparently free food.

Please let me know if you are brave enough to represent the club.

17.Darley Moor Crits

The second Darley Moor Crit promoted by Richard Clark takes place on Sunday 12th May with a 12.00 start. The race is for 2/3/4/V.

Richard is also promoting a two day event at Darley Moor on the Bank Holiday weekend, Saturday, 1st and Sunday, 2nd June consisting of two time-trials and two crits, He would appreciate as much help as you can give him on either or both days.

18.East Midland BSCA Crits and Time Trials. .

The dates of these two events have had to be changed. Both are still at Lincoln. The crits and time trials for the under-12 age groups are at Yarborough Circuit on 4th May.

19. Club Charity 2002

Every year the club club decides to support a different charity and any funds raised from a variety of events will be donated to the charity chosen for that particular year.

In 2002 the charity is the Derbyshire Air Ambulance.

Activities for all ages but especially those under 16.

23.St Elphins Cycling

We are organising a cycling event for St Elphin‘s pupils in the Junior and Infant departments on Saturday, 25th May, starting at 10.00 and finishing at 12.00.

So far 25 have signed up and the club would appreciate as much help as possible on this morning.

One to one would be ideal!{you havn't met Harve!}

23.Family Day at Darley Moor.

This takes place on the Jubilee Tuesday, 4th June, starting at 14.00. It will include such things as a Trix testing, a chance to compete against other Improve clubs and use of the circuit for traffic-free leisure riding. More details in the next newsletter or phone Harry.

24.BCF Challenge

The area heat takes place at Carsington on Saturday, 15th June. Further details in the next newsletter or from Harry,
