What's happening at club in March

7th March, 8pm Dominoes - Final round

3rd and final round of the club‘s popular dominoes league. Can Ron Duggins hang on to his lead? First timers welcome - if you can count to six!

14th March, 8pm Cyclo Cross Board Game

The cylco-cross season may be over but here is one last chance to bag that elusive win! Lots of laughs guaranteed. Suitable for children from 11 years upwards.

21st March, 8pm Dr Bike

”I would have a done a PB if only my tri-bars hadn‘t worked loose•. Sound familar? Make sure your bike is ready for those early season races. Phone Rob for an appointment on 01629 822259.

28th March, 8pm.

Anyone interested in family bike rides this summer? Help us to organise the right sort of ride for your family.

2. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in March at the station car park entrance. These rides meet at 9.15 and leave at 9.30.

Monday evening rides start outside the Laburnum, Hackney Road, at 18.30.

5. RTTC Handbooks.

Orders with cash (£4) to Tony as soon as possible please.

6. Press Secretary.

Ron Duggins is our Press Secretary. He can be reached on 01629 584677 or Email using dalesecho@aol.com . He needs your news by 20.00 on the Sunday evening.

7. Trophies.

If you were unable to collect your trophy at the Club Dinner and Trophy Presentation they will be available at club on 7th February.

You could collect your trophy from Parkside during February if you make a prior appointment

Has any one got any old, spare trophies that we could modify and use. We have several Championships that do not have a trophy.

8.Club Subscriptions, 2002.

They remain unchanged from 2001, Seniors: £10, Under-23: £5, Under-18: £1, Family: £15. All under -18 members are required to be members of either the BCF or the CTC. Subscriptions to Tony Holmes please.

9. Clubroom in April

The clubroom is open each Thursday in April after the finish of the short hilly event - about 19.15.

10. Time Trials 2002.

The final of the club‘s time trials can be found in the clubroom and on the website. Comments on the mistakes welcomed and sought.

11. Pedal Power 2002.

Send your articles for the 2002 edition of Pedal Power urgently to Danny. He is hoping to publish by Easter and still needs articles.

If you have broken any club records last year please let Danny know so that these can be included in PP.

12. Open Events

We have 2 open events in March.

On Saturday 2nd March we organise the Open Hilly 25 and on Sunday, 10th March we organise the BDCA Hilly 20 on the new AH/7.

Entries close: Open Hilly, Tuesday 19th February: BDCA Hilly, Tuesday, 26th February.

Please either ride these events or help marshal them.

Richard Thoday is organising a group ride on Tuesday evenings leaving Crown Square at 19.00. They hope to cover 35/40 miles.

17.Darley Moor Crits

The first Darley Moor Crit promoted by Richard Clark takes place on Sunday 14th April with a 12.00 start. The race is for 3/4/j/V.

18.East Midland BSCA Crits and Time Trials. .

The dates of these two events have had to be changed. Both are still at Lincoln. The crits and time trials for the under-12 age groups are at Yarborough Circuit on 4th May. The time trials for the over-12 age groups are on Saturday 27th April.

19. Club Charity 2002

Every year the club club decides to support a different charity and any funds raised from a variety of events will be donated to the charity chosen for that particular year.

In 2002 the charity is the Derbyshire Air Ambulance.
