1. Mountain Bike Section.

Meets each Saturday morning in March, at 9.00 starting from the station car park entrance. Monday evening rides start outside the Thorntree at 18.30. Further details of both outings from Tony Holmes on 01629 734753.

2. Thanks.

Thanks to all who helped in any way with this years auction which raised in excess of £40 for the young riders fund.

3. Club Room.

The Barn club room is open each Thursday evening in February from about 20.00 to 21.30.

5. Winter is Nearly Finished.

The cross season has finished if you hadn't noticed.

6. Press Secretary.

Mark Fairman needs informing of all of our exploits. Please call him on 01629 583564 with all your results as soon as possible after the event.


7. Impruve Event

The next Impruve event is the Dr Bike session at the Barn on Thursday, 16th March starting at 20.00. Get your bike checked over. Phone Harry on 01629 822259 for more details.


8.World Track Championships.

These take place in Manchester, 25th - 29th October, 2000. The club hopes to organise a bus trip to these championships. Please let Tony know if you are interested in going.

9.Result of Riber 1999

10. Club Event.

Sunday,12th and 19th March: Winster Circuit time trial. 08.00 start from the 10 start, 4 Lane Ends, Darley Dale..
Sunday, 26th March: 25 mile time trial. 08.00 start..


11. Club Subscriptions

Club subscriptions for 2000 become due on the 1st January. There is no change in the subscriptions for 2000. Seniors - £10, Under-23 - £5, Junior - £1 + BCF, Youth - £1 + BCF. Family - £15.

Please hand or send completed enrolment forms together with payment to Tony Holmes or Harry Gould.


12.Open Event.

The Open Hilly 25 mile time trial takes place on Saturday, 4th March, with a 13.30 start from Rowsley. Please come and help with this event either marshalling or helping in the event HQ, Rowsley Village Hall.

The first Darley Moor crits takes place on Sunday, 26th March with racing starting at 12.00. Please help or race.

13. Results of Club Events in 2000

14. BDCA.

Please note that, as we missed the subscription dead line by 2 days, we are no longer a member club of the BDCA. It seems sad that, after over 30 years of promoting events for the BDCA, the first year we did not promote, we are thrown out for a (minor) infringement. Where are our friends?

This means that only open BDCA events may be ridden.

15. Circuit Training.

Circuit training takes place on Tuesday evenings, 7th, 14th, 21st and 28th March at 19.30 to 20.30. using the Gym at the Starkholmes Annex of Highfields School, Starkhomes Road, Matlock. Cost £2 at work, £1 rest. New sufferers always welcome!

16. Notts and Derby League Cross Events Final Results.

Congratulations to all Matlock riders who competed in this league.

17.Touring Trophy .

This year's trophy takes place Thursday, March 30th with the first rider leaving the club room around 18.30. You will need a map, usual touring equipment, lights and a pencil. Hopefully you should be finished by 21.00!

18.Pedal Power 2000.

Collect your copy from club.

19.Trophies.

Congratulations to all winners of trophies for the 1999 season. Please note that this year all trophies MUST be retuned to club on or before Thursday, 30th November 2000.

20. Events 2000

Final Version of this year's club events is posted at club together with courses to be used.

21. Sponsored Ride

One of our members is riding in aid of Struan Kerr-Lidell. Struan, a former pupil of Lady Manners School, Bakwell, broke his neck when the scrum collapsed in a university rugby game. His sister, Kirsty, used to be a member of the club, coming to the North Yorks Moors with us.
The ride is from Derbyshire to Edinburgh, timed to coincide with the International at Murryfield. Forms are in the clubroom.
