Start by the path marker to the west of the gate on High Tor Road and the path going south. Proceed up the hill round the hairpin and then bear left at the Y junction of paths to finish approximately 30 m before the gate to the radio mast.

Getting there

The hill is the extension of High Tor Road, over the unsurfaced track and through the wooden gate. High Tor Road is almost opposite Starkholmes Village Hall and between a telephone box and a bus shelter on Starkholmes Road, Matlock.

It appears at that the only way on Sunday will be via Cromford. Starkholmes Road is closed by the Duke William pub at present (Saturday)

From Matlock

Starkholmes Road can be accessed from the Matlock - Tansley Road (A615) at Matlock Green where it is almost opposite the junction of the A632 with the A615 From Cromford

Take the road towards Holloway and Crich from the traffic lights, go over the river bridge and take the first road on the left on to Starkholmes Road. (not to Willersley Castle!). High Tor Road is at the summit of Starkholmes Road near to a bus shelter.

Event HQ

Signing - on sheets and numbers will be in Starkholmes Village Hall from 9.30 am This is on Starkholmes Road, almost opposite the access road to the hill.
